]]>March 26, 2024 – We are excited to unveil our brand-new DocOrigin logo! This updated logo is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence, reflecting both our growth as a company and our dedication to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in document generation.
Along with our new visual identity, we are excited to share that DocOrigin v3.3.004.01 and Web Services v1.3.7 were released on March 12, 2024. This comprehensive update enhances the document design and merge functionalities as well as our Web Services, delivering a smoother and more efficient user experience across the board.
Enhanced Design and Merge Capabilities
The Design module now offers users an optimized workflow and visual management, including a new dockable window for scripts, improved visualization of objects, and enhanced support for Unicode characters in file paths, streamlining the design process even further.
Merge functionality has received a significant upgrade, featuring a redesigned stitching process when duplexing, an enhanced Global search algorithm, and improved stability when working with TIFF images. Handling of form paths with Unicode characters has also been improved, ensuring a more seamless and efficient document processing experience.
Refined Tools and Services
We have made targeted adjustments to FolderMonitor and FilterEditor, focusing on better error handling. New configuration options in ConfigEditor allow for more precise setup and document creation. Our Windows software setup now includes an updated cURL v8.4.0, and the Linux and AIX setups have been enhanced with Default-PCL* output configuration files, providing a more robust and reliable setup across platforms.
Web Services 1.3.7 introduces several improvements, addressing issues related to cleanup, including the missed deletion of files with certain prefixes and the excessive deletion of data in some cases. Additionally, we have added the ability to stop tasks upon application unload, directed logs to the DocOrigin User/Logs folder, and enhanced support for Unicode returned via jobInfo.properties, ensuring a more reliable and user-friendly experience.

]]>Version 3.3.001.01 is the first using its’ new numbering system. The last two digits are now being used for “hot fixes” – version releases containing specific product enhancements or security updates outside of the regular product development. Eclipse knows their customers are dealing with real-time business cases and hot fixes allow them to better respond to customers’ time-sensitive requirements.
Web Services
Eclipse has increased the flexibility of their web services to support direct Merge calls and added the ability to configure web services to call different applications (such as RunScript) with different parameters. They have also made it possible to turn off Tomcat authentication.
Stitching (Document Assembly)
Does your company have terms and conditions, instructions, flyers, or other documents that must be included with your forms? Use DocOrigin’s newly expanded stitching feature to easily append external documents in production. Stitching reduces form development time and form maintenance by allowing you to keep changing content out of your form design. External documents can be updated by their authors without intervention from your form designers. Stitching is also a best practice for including a document exactly as authored when required by law. DocOrigin takes stitching a step further by allowing you to dynamically pull in external files based on a data field’s value and produce both PDF and PCL output in a single job.

August 25, 2020 – Cape Coral, FL – Eclipse Corporation® announced today the outcomes of comparison testing with a top competitor.
Size Matters:
When it comes to enterprise document generation, file size is a major concern for all companies. As paperless delivery and digital storage of documents finally begins to take root, massive amounts of data are being pushed through local network and cloud servers – making bandwidth more precious than it has ever been.
Companies that produce thousands – or even hundreds of millions – of documents every month, like our customer AT&T, understand that performance and file size are major factors in providing information and customer communications in a cost-effective manner.
